Human Impact Partners
APHA 2018
Advocacy is integral to public health. To create a healthy and equitable society, public health must take an active role in advocacy and partner with social and racial justice movements. Through the Public Health Awakened network, Human Impact Partners is organizing public health professionals to use their power, voice, resources and expertise to advocate for social justice. One example of this work is around immigration and recognizing immigration status, deportation, and detention as public health issues. By changing the narrative within public health and integrating a public health lens into immigrant rights movements, we can work towards a vision of health equity. Join this community of social justice minded public health professionals to take action and organize for health, equity and justice.
