A Progressive Approach to Care Research and Education
The UNC Kidney Center has a progressive approach to care, research and education.
Kidney disease is now recognized as a 'hidden epidemic' affecting more than 850 million people worldwide. The UNC Kidney Center is dedicated to creating a better tomorrow for these patients, pursuing research that is identifying the causes of Glomerulonephritis (GN), as well as new ways to improve the delivery of care for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). We’re on the cusp of major breakthroughs that will transform the lives of millions and we are training our physicians to care for them. Guided by a legacy of titans in the field, our robust clinical, translational and basic research enterprise encompasses acute, chronic, and autoimmune diseases of the kidney. We promote early detection through our outreach efforts, recognizing the vital connection between nephrologists and primary care providers. We are also fostering a new culture of clinical research for the industry, helping clinics and patients become 'research ready.' Because global health impacts our clinical practice and daily life, our work knows no borders. We believe the future is filled with hope.
