Research Center for Ultra-High Voltage Electron Microscopy
Osaka University
The development of ultra-high voltage electron microscope and materials and bio-science application of electron microscopy at Osaka University
The research Center for Ultra-High Voltage Electron Microscopy (UHVEM) is a Joint-Use Education and Research Facility at Osaka University. The mission of the center is to pioneer new research fields on materials science, biology and medical science by electron microscopes including the unique 3 MV UHVEM and Materials- and Bio-Science UHVEM in the world. In order to carry out the mission, the staff pushing challenging research which makes the best use of the advantage of UHVEM, the developments of electron microscopes and new microscopy techniques. Such research techniques are applied to joint-use research for the researchers at Osaka University or outside the university. The center is developing new research fields as a worldwide core in electron microscopy research.
