At the Cutting Edge-Siteman Cancer Center
Investigators at Washington University at Siteman Cancer Center were among the first to sequence the human genome and the very first to sequence the first Cancer Genome. Since then Siteman has been a leader in personalized medicine and the discovery of mechanisms of Cancer Etiology and Novel Therapies. Additionally, investigators at Siteman were the first to identify cancer “Neoantigens” as targets for cancer immunotherapy. Novel vaccination approaches based on the identification of cancer-specific neoantigens, as well as genetic manipulation of NK, iNKT and T Cells with using gene-edited chimeric antigen receptor-expressing T Cells, NK, iNKT cells for the treatment of multiple hematologic malignancies is underway.
