The Insititute for Social Research (ISR) at the University of Michigan is the world’s largest social science and research organization. With researchers from a broad range of academic disciplines, ISR serves as a national laboratory for the social sciences, advancing public understanding of human behavior through empirical research of extraordinary depth and breadth. ISR is home to several landmark longitudinal studies, programs and datasets on America’s aging population including the Health and Retirement Study and The Panel Study on Income Dynamics. These two surveys that have produced data on the challenges and opportunities of aging for decades while tyhe multidisciplinary gerontological research underway at ISR’s BioSocial Methods Collaborative provide researchers with the tools and resources necessary to collaborate and innovate.
