The University of Leeds and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are a leading provider for tertiary Endocrine specialist care in Leeds and the North of England. With a focus on clinical disorders of the Pituitary-adrenal axis - Pituitary tumours, Cushing’s, Addisons, to name nut a few, and a multi disciplinary team approach to patient care. In Leeds we find clinical excellence working alongside basic science to improve patient outcomes with research and clinical trials looking into the side effects of long term steroid use playing a key role. Informatics is also increasingly playing a key role in the treatment of endocrine disorders. The Endocrinology Laboratory at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides a full endocrine and tumour marker service for all the hospitals in Leeds and Bradford and a specialist service for other hospitals in the region and across the country.
