Scientists at the Oregon National Primate Research Center are studying non-human primates to understand reproduction and development in women. At the center of a four-prong project, funded by the NICHD, is polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Researchers hope to better understand the etiology of PCOS and provide new diagnostic tools, both which would help to address the public health problem of infertility in women.
