The Center for Human Genetics has a long and distinguished history of discovery in genetics and developed the initial maps of the human genome known as the Marshfield maps. It is home to one of the most valuable biobanks in the world, the Personalized Medicine Research Project, which includes 20,000 volunteers with nearly complete long-term electronic medical records matched with DNA, plasma and serum samples.
